Aberrant Ceramics is the artwork of Aaron Nosheny, potter and ceramic artist based in Tucson, Arizona. Self-taught and neurodivergent, he has worked in stoneware clay since 2004. He makes non-traditional forms in a medium built on tradition, exploring the overlap between wonder and revulsion. Subject matter includes sympathetic monsters, insects, opossums, fast food mascots, and Halloween kitsch.

I am in love with my medium. I love the process of frantically birthing clay monstrosities, subjecting them to an epic trial by fire, and sending them out into the world.

Space Coyotes 11 and 12

I recently sold one of these on Etsy and decided to make a few more, but then I heard rumors of Fox's plans to crack down on copyright infringement on Etsy.  I don't know if the coyote head is actually copyrighted, but I voluntarily took them down to avoid having my shop closed.

Tooth Cup #2

This cup maintains the pattern of human teeth, although I ran out of room after the first molars and the bottom teeth are the same size as the top teeth.

The glaze ran in many places.

Eye Cup #21 With Big Eye and Teeth

This is #21 in a series of slab coffee cups with molded eyes.  This one has a an enormous central eye and eight teeth to either side.  Unlike the Black Tooth Pot and Tooth Pot 1, this one doesn't follow human dentition.  All the teeth are upper central incisors.
