Aberrant Ceramics is the artwork of Aaron Nosheny, potter and ceramic artist based in Tucson, Arizona. Self-taught and neurodivergent, he has worked in stoneware clay since 2004. He makes non-traditional forms in a medium built on tradition, exploring the overlap between wonder and revulsion. Subject matter includes sympathetic monsters, insects, opossums, fast food mascots, and Halloween kitsch.
I am in love with my medium. I love the process of frantically birthing clay monstrosities, subjecting them to an epic trial by fire, and sending them out into the world.

The Martin O'Malley Eye Cup
This is Eye Cup #57. It was inspired the image below of Democratic presidential candidate Martin O'Malley. I don't know the context and I don't want to know.

Scared Kid in Bed Objects WIP
I'm finishing up a few projects and I'm ready to return to the Angry Mop story.
It's a story about a boy named Jesús and the angry mop that lives in his closet.
I'm recycling the symbol set from the Lovers card for the comforter on his bed.

Cat Clock WIPs
This is a Cheshire cat alarm clock for Jesús' bedroom.
I wanted to make it as free-standing alarm clock but the clock part is heavy.
I tried it anyway. Once it dries, it might make it to the kiln and survive the bisque firing intact. It might be able to stand up when it's done.
Another version less likely to provoke attacks from litigious empires.
